My second feature film, Martha's Mustang kicked off active development with a community-awareness event in the Baytown area, where this inspired-by-true-story takes place! It was a lovely event at the Baytown Historical Museum where we premiered a sizzle reel featuring some of the documentary interviews with real-life characters Martha, Frank, and Don as well as an overview of where we are with the project. Check it out below!
This event wouldn't have happened without the help of my friend and fellow filmmaker, Erika Waldorf, who beautifully staged the food and wine and took photos of the event. Thank you, Erika! Check out selected photos below (or check out all of the amazing photos here!).
I also want to thank Terry Presley for helping to organize the event at the Museum and donating the beautiful new poster we created for the event. More thanks to Martha, of course, as well as Don who entertained the audience, the team from Frank's Collision who came out in support, as well as everyone who came out to learn more and shared their enthusiasm for bringing this project to life.
We also received two write-ups (before the event here and after the event here) in the Baytown Sun and expect to be in the Baytown magazine this spring!
Development is the stage where we finalize the script, attach a name (well-known) actor, and raise funds to shoot the film. We are planning for a late October 2025 production (fingers crossed!) and as a community story, we want the community involved in making the film! That's why this Baytown event was so important to kick off our efforts. MORE TO COME!

Don’t forget we also have options for traditional investors if that’s something that interests you, or if you know someone who might want to invest.
I created a Google Doc where you can list any RESOURCES you have (locations, props, wardrobe, cars, etc) as well as any recommendations for companies to partner with for product placement and corporate sponsorship.
As I refine the script, I’m looking for more Baytown stories to thread through Martha’s fight to enrich the movie with the authenticity of Baytown and it’s character. There’s a spot in the Google Doc to share your Baytown pre-1994 story, your story about the “purple planter,” or your story with Martha, Don, Frank, Billy, or anyone else involved.
Donation Perks listed on the fundraising website.
Enjoy our 17 minute sizzle reel. A more traditional 90 second pitch video is in the works!
